How Advanto handles your information.

Who we are

Advanto is software for tradespeople and small businesses, operated by Mathaius Howell, a sole trader trading as Advanto (“Advanto”, “we”, “us”). For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for information about people who enquire about or use Advanto.

What we collect, and why

When you enquire about Advanto

If you fill in a form on this website, or an advert we run on Facebook or Instagram, we collect the details you give us — typically your name, business name, email address, phone number, your trade, and which part of Advanto you are interested in.

We use these to reply to you and to talk to you about Advanto. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — responding to someone who has asked us to get in touch — and, where you have ticked to hear from us, consent.

When you use Advanto

To run your account we hold the details you enter: your business information, your prices, your customers and enquiries, your bookings, and your own record of money in and out. This is your business's data. We use it only to provide Advanto to you.

Where you use Advanto to hold information about your customers, you are the controller of that information and we act as your processor — we handle it on your instructions and for no purpose of our own.

When you visit this website

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no third-party tracking. We do not build a profile of you for visiting.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address in order to serve them. Our hosting provider, Netlify, processes your IP address and request as any web server must in order to send you this page.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We use a small number of suppliers who process data on our behalf:

Where a supplier is outside the UK, transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the provider's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Where it is kept

Your Advanto data is held on our own server, not a third-party cloud database, and sensitive values are encrypted at rest. Access is restricted to the owner of Advanto, and no one else.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that don't go anywhere — up to 12 months, then deleted.
• Customer accounts — for as long as you use Advanto, then up to 90 days after you close your account so it can be restored if you change your mind.
• Records we must keep by law (invoices, tax records) — 6 years.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:

• tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete it, where we have no ongoing reason to keep it;
• stop using it for a particular purpose, including marketing;
• hand it over to you or another provider in a portable format.

You can opt out of our messages at any time — reply STOP to a text, or tell us by email — and we will stop.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Children

Advanto is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant we will tell existing customers directly.
